I teamed up with the mastermind behind Ben Kadosh, the multimedia-artist Christian Finne, just released his dark industrial/ambient meditative debut E.P.: “Knox Om Pax.”

Finne:

“Ben Kadosh refers to a character from Hans Scherfig’s IDEALISTS, and it’s music people can stride their rocket shoes to.

I am inspired by albums like Miles Davis’ ‘Big Fun,’ Alice Coltrane’s ‘Journey to Satchidananda,’ Love’s ‘Forever Changes,’ Pip Proud’s ‘Bird in the Engine,’ and Joachim Skogsberg’s ‘Jola Rota.’ Also, places like Østre Anlæg, Christiania, Folkets Hus, Stamhuset, and Link Wray’s grave at Christianskirken, and books like Foucault’s Pendulum and ‘Numero Zero’ by Umberto Eco, Thomas Pynchon’s ‘Gravity’s Rainbow,’ and Michel Bertiaux’s ‘The Voudon Gnostic Workbook.’ Visually, I’m fond of Mike Kelley, Öyvind Fahlström, Martin Kippenberger, Moki Cherry, and Copenhagen’s Rikke Benborg.

I have played extensively as a DJ in the Copenhagen underground and with VANISHING TWIN. I create my tracks on a Spartan HP EliteBook 840. I love slowing down all the sound to the point of becoming metallic, then adding echoes and increasing the noise, finding the places where I can loop a rhythm and repeating the process ad nauseum until a trance-like state emerges. Keep an eye on Ben Kadosh/Finne!”
